Bouquet of paper and bride and groom on bicycle

One more week promising good here on the blog. Today’s post will tell (and show) about the marriage of Sophie and Jimmy, a super-bereaved couple who went over the formalities and traditions of a marriage.

Bouquet of paper and bride and groom on bicycle. Love. Joy. Friendship. Complicity and a very warm day. This somewhat sums up the marriage that took place on June 10, 2017 in Houthalen, Belgium.

Sophie chose to wear a short dress. According to her, long dress does not look anything like the personality she has. Her daughter was present the whole time, helping in the preparations and keeping the laughter in the house. The longer the time came, the more anxious mother and daughter became.

The fiancé, Jimmy, appeared by bicycle to fetch the bride. He brought the bouquet of paper made by himself and lots of love. When they saw each other, Sophie could not hold back the emotion.

From there they rode by bicycle, followed by some guests, to the city hall. Only 5 minutes away from their house and a beautiful day to enjoy. The story follows without much secrecy for the rest of the day. Lots of happiness involved and lots of love. Grooms, now married, went on to the couple session, reception and bbq.

Lots of beer, meat, music and laughter. Perfect combination for a sunny day in Belgium.

Wedding with no formalities in Genk – Belgium

Hello! Another cool post from a super wedding that happened in Genk, Belgium. Yvette and Hans asked only one thing: “Do your job. It was for it that we fell in love and you’re the professional”. I was so happy to hear that. Of course that the clients who come to me search exactly for the style of pictures that I take, but leaving me totally (really totally) at ease during one of the couple’s most important days is more complicated. When I say this it is because customers usually direct a little what they expect from the photos. Which does not bother me at all.

Yvette and Hans chose not to pose with their friends. Official pictures only with parents, siblings and witnesses. The pictures of the couple lasted between 20 and 30 minutes and for them that was already enough.

I love that trust that is placed in me and in my work. I feel freer to create and capture the best moments of the couple’s day. Even though they do not want to take posed pictures, there is no lack of common sense for the photographer to have all the invited guests registered. And it does not mean that the guests do not want to pose for the photographer 😉

That day everything flowed as it had to flow. And after the couple got the pictures, I was even happier with the message they sent me, saying they loved the result and that was exactly what they expected, that they were extremely pleased.

So as not to boast, I’ll let you check a little of what happened while I was there.

And for more information on budgets and how I work, please contact us here.

Have fun with the pictures that I took in Genk

Civil wedding in Leuven – Belgium

Hello again! Today’s post will be about the civil wedding in Leuven – Belgium that I took pictures of beginning of June.

Karen and Dries came to me through his brother Jasper and their sister-in-law Nele. I took pictures of their wedding last year (if you have not seen the post click here). In fact, Karen and Dries’ wedding was divided into two stages: the civil wedding in Leuven – Belgium in June of this year and the religious ceremony to be held in June of next year (2018).

For the first marriage, Karen and Dries invited their family and close friends to witness this union. Leuven city hall is one of the most beautiful and imposing I have ever seen. It is located in the center of the city, in the middle of the square, and looks more like a castle than a city hall (laughs). And like every civil celebration, it all happened very fast.

After the greetings we opted to quickly photograph the couple and guests in an open space of the city hall. Then we went to the bride’s parents’ house, where a small reception was held for the same ones who attended the civil celebration.

Formalities fulfilled, it’s time to enjoy everyone’s company and have fun. That’s what the bride and groom did. Check out the photos of this beautiful day.

Pictures for the wedding invitation.

A couple who already have a long standing story to tell. Femke and Kenneth make a beautiful pair. The companionship, love, and dedication they have to one another is visible. This session was held before their wedding, which took place earlier this month in July, here in Belgium.

The intention was to make the wedding invitation with one of the photos. Purpose accomplished!

For the photos, we went to the place where the civil wedding was held, in Lanaken. Domein Pietersheim is a famous green area among people who enjoy walking, cycling or simply enjoying nature.
We unite the useful to pleasant. And a session with this couple was fundamental to getting to know each other better and to have an excellent use on the wedding day.

Here’s the tip for the readers: get to know your photographer well and, if possible, take a moment before the wedding day to be photographed. On the wedding day the interaction is even more pleasurable.

Now I’ll let you guys enjoy the pictures of this couple. Soon a post about their wedding. Keep yourself online 😉

Sarah and Lars – when the bridesmaids are the couple’s daughters

Bridesmaids are always lovely, are not they ?! And when the bridesmaids are the couple’s daughters? It is even more special.

Sarah and Lars got married in March of this year (2017) and celebrated their happiness with their daughters, family and close friends.

The civil ceremony took place in Riemst city hall, in Belgium, and the religious ceremony took place in a church very close to the couple’s house, also in Riemst.

The bridesmaids represented their role very well. They even signed the “official” marriage document for their parents.

After all the bureaucratic and official part, it’s time to enjoy the party and the guests. It all happened in the De Kleine Graaf. Very well decorated, very well served and very well organized, the couple only needed to worry about enjoying their day.

As it is a very beautiful place, we chose to take the couple and family photos in the garden of the party venue. Check out the result of that day just below. Sarah and Lars were presented early in the spring with a very sunny day. And it’s as they say, everyone has what they deserve. And they certainly deserved that beautiful day.

If you liked our work, do not hesitate and contact us to find out how it works. From time to time I go to Brazil and I am available for trips around the world. All this to photograph your special day. Send an e-mail to: info@tamypimentel.com or contact us here.

About a family in Algarve

Hello! Today’s post is about a family living in Portimão – Algarve, southern region of Portugal.

Gabriela, Eric and Theodoro: a beautiful family, full of love, joy and disposition. We found ourselves in Praia da Rocha and took advantage of that wonderful place, with a beautiful light and an incredible sunset.

Teodoro was just over a month old and behaved so well. That small baby certainly brought even more light to the life of this couple.

About the session, we chose to stay only in Praia da Rocha. Which was a great idea. This beach in Algarve is beautiful by the combination of rocks and sea of clear water (like most of the beaches of this region :D). The grandma of the Teodoro was also there and we took some photos with her too 🙂

But we also had a moment of only photos of the couple. That’s when they surprised me with their love. I love seeing couples who are not ashamed to publicly show what they feel for each other, who take every second and enjoy the hug, the kiss, the affection…

Anyway, check out the photos below and feel the heart of this beautiful family.

P.s .: and for you that do not know yet, I am always available to photograph in any corner of the world;) Portugal is a leap from here in Belgium. Just like France, Holland, Germany, Spain, Italy …. 😀 contact us to find out how it works.

A day of love

After so long without posting (I’m sorry) I’m back with a beautiful wedding. Today is a day of love!

Esther and Tom had 01 month to prepare everything. As they are moving to China, official paperwork had to come out faster. I, as a friend and photographer, was very honored to be able to take pictures of the couple’s beautiful moments and contribute a little more.

On 10/05 they held a civil ceremony in the city of Bilzen, Belgium. They chose to do something very small and only for the family.

For the photos of the couple we did not have to go very far. As this region of Belgium is full of wonderful landscapes, surrounded by nature, we have chosen to stay right here. And the result is the one you check below. Much love!

A barbecue soon after the ceremony was done by the father-in-law at the bride’s parents’ home, where they carefully decorated in a very intimate and romantic way. Esther is one of those dreamers. But let nothing be left in her head. She goes there and does it. And to represent well that each one should follow their dreams, several dream catchers were spread by the reception and delivered as a souvenir to the family after the event.

As I mentioned, Esther and Tom are great friends. Taking pictures of that day was more than special. Being surrounded by people who love life, nature and people makes our day be complete. This new journey they will follow will surely be filled with love, happiness and fulfillment of dreams.

Therefore, I wish the couple always the best vibrations and that is a stage of life full of achievements.

I hope that for you, reader, today is also a day of love. Be inspired by the love of other couples that is presented to you.

With love

After a long time I’m back with the pictures of this wonderful wedding that happened last summer, here in Belgium. Stephanie contacted me a few months before the wedding already with the certain that I’d be taking the pictures 😃

Our interview was super laid back. Because at the time I was also organizing my own wedding, we shared the same experiences and we had pretty much the same suppliers. Everything made with love.

On the day of Stephanie and Luc’s wedding we went to their house. The couple wanted to get ready together, in the same place. Relatives and some friends were there too, sharing the butterflies in the belly moments before the “yes”.

We went to the city hall to formalize the union of the two. From there we went to the place where ceremony, reception and party would take place.

A wonderful day, blue sky and perfect spot for an outdoor ceremony. Nothing could take away the beauty of this day, surrounded by people who shared the happiness of the couple. A union that happened in a relaxed way, with actors who have gone through priests to leave the environment even more in a party atmosphere. That was the couple’s choice.

Soon after the ceremony took place the reception, where the band Domino made the party. There was not lack of animation and good humor. Everyone had fun and day and night went as planned.

Stephanie and Luc, happiness always and much love to you!

With love!

The Baptism of Mats

Do you remember the post I made about Stefanie’s family session? Click here to remember ;). Today’s post is about the baptism of her second son, Mats.
The baptism took place in a church in the city of Beverlo, Belgium. Only for parents, grandparents and close relatives.

The Catholic church has the same ritual of marriage and baptism anywhere. Here wouldn’t be different. The anointing moments with the oil, water, candle were all realized and shortly after Mats had been baptized.

After the ceremony the guests headed to the reception area, where the family received everyone with smile and love. Many candies, many memories and a lot of conversation completed the afternoon of this event.

Below you can see the details of that day.

Stephanie and Patrick – Tears of joy

Stephanie and Patrick got married in August 2016 on a sunny and wonderful day. There were tears of joy to show the happiness of the bride and groom and their family for this relationship.

The day began in Lummen, a city in Belgium in the Limburg region. I photographed Stephanie’s making off and waited for the groom’s arrival for the First Look. The instant the groom arrived, he could not shake the emotion.

We proceeded to the city hall, where official marriages take place in Belgium, and more tears ran down as they said “yes” to each other.

It was an intimate ceremony, for the family and few friends, but surrounded by lots of love. And it could not have been different in the course of the day. Reception and dinner for 40 people happened in a hall next to the house of the bride and groom, surrounded by much laughter and much joy. Everyone felt at home and the proposal of the bride and groom to do something intimate and lively was respected and followed.

The couple does not feel very comfortable posing for photos. Does not fit too much in their profile. The proposal, then, was to make them extremely comfortable not to look at the camera and do whatever came into their heads {Do not confuse with lack of direction 😉 } Result: fun, laughter and many tears of joy.
